Hello my Math Methods students!
Thank you to the students who sent in the scope & sequence homework. If yours is outstanding, please email it ASAP.
In addition to your reading and answering the questions as outlined in your syllabus, this post will be an opportunity for discussion on this chapter to see what things stuck you as the most interesting or questions that you had. I should see at least one post from each student per day of class that we are missing. I look forward to reading your discussions and thoughts upon my arrival back to campus.
Thank you for your hard work and please ensure that in addition to this daily chapter discussion that you are also working on your children's literature project. You are choosing a book (buy it, rent it, borrow it) and turning in lessons plans or a unit overview on how, based on standards, you can integrate that children's literature piece into your math classroom.

Technological Advances
I'm so proud of my student's progress as they stretch themselves in learning about technology and how it can be integrated into their classrooms. Look how hard they are working!
Who said school is boring? Not my students!

Check out their blog links for access:
- to a unit of study that they each created and presented integrating an android app
- links to favorite apps that they have researched and played
- a review of a professional organization that they have joined along with their learning experiences in being part of that community of professionals
Stay tuned for many more great projects planned for the rest of this semester.

Welcome!
Welcome to your Educational Technology class blog!
Our fall 2013 semester holds in store for us some amazing learning opportunities as we explore the world of educational technology together. Your blog will become your portfolio showing off your ability and creativity in the world of technology.
“We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher’s hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world.” – David Warlick
Let me introduce myself: Mrs. Andrea Stasyszen. I graduated with my Bachelors from Family of Faith College in secondary education as a mathematics major in 2000. In 2009, I graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast with my Masters in the Art of Teaching. This is my 8th year of teaching. I have a wonderful husband, Jason, and we have been married almost 15 years. Together we have four children. I have enjoyed many varied work experiences but I value my time with the Department of Education for the State of Alaska as one of the most amazing work experiences. Distance learning and technology integration were some the the most valuable tools I took with me from that work environment. My husband and I lived in Alaska for the past 11 years where we pastored Breakthrough Church. With our recent move to Oklahoma, the transition as a college teacher and volunteer resource teacher for elementary students has been a big change! But enough about me; who is ready for this technology adventure to begin?!? I know I am!
